School Literate Program for Students

Thesis :
      The school literate program for students developed based on the rule of minister of education and culture number 23 in 2015. The rule is about moral growth. This program aims to familiarize and motivate students to read and write to cultivate their moral. At the beginning of the year of 2016 / 2017 SMAN 8 Yogyakarta started this program. The program usually begins at 06.45 – 07.00 a.m before the class started. But, this program has pros and cons from students.
Argument 1 :
      First, they seems to agree with the program that their run, because they consider that it will brig influences to them. That influences are :
1.      When we follow the program, we will get more knowledge from literate’s book. The literate’s book loads new informations when we don’t know it before.
2.      The program can improve our critical thinking to analyze a problem, like a complicated question.
3.      The program can give more courage or spirit to discipline about the shool’s time in the morning.
4.      The program can improve our comprehension about a text. So we can easily understand the text that we have read.
Argument 2 :
      Secondly, they seems to assess that the result of literate more effective with speaking in front of class because they can rehearse their ability to speak. But however, they seems to assess that the program can’t improve their interest to reading, because the time for literate is too early and the variety of book has less interesting to them. I think the school needed consideration to the program to copes the student’s complaints in order to this program successful.
Conclusion :
From all of that, in fact, the students of SMAN 8 Yogyakarta has agreed to have the literate program but their not agreeing with time that have been determined to run the program. The literate’s book has less interesting and has less a variety that makes the student feels lazy and it not improve their interest to read. The program can give positive impacts to students but needed consideration from school about the program to copes the student’s complaints in order to this program successful.
Recommendation :
From my arguments above, I can give any solution to cultivate the program, there are : the school should review that program, such as the time’s for literate and the books for literate. In addition, the school should makes a competition to their students, like writing opinion competition, making mind map competition, making short story competition, and student can be participant to make school’s bulletin or magazine. So, students can be more enthusiastic to follow the literate program.
